DoD Mission Director (Hybrid)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a DoD Mission Director. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing existing DoD contracts while actively seeking and securing new contracts to support the mission objectives of the Department of Defense. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of defense industry practices, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in managing complex projects and fostering successful partnerships with various stakeholders. This is a hybrid position with two days onsite three days remote.
Responsibilities:
Oversee Existing DoD Contracts: Take charge of all ongoing DoD contracts, ensuring their smooth execution and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement necessary strategies to mitigate them.
New Contract Acquisition: Proactively identify and pursue new contract opportunities that align with the DoD's strategic objectives. Engage with potential clients, assess their needs, and craft compelling proposals that highlight the organization's capabilities and value proposition.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to expand the organization's presence within the defense sector. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to define realistic goals, prioritize initiatives, and allocate resources effectively.
Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, defense contractors, and industry partners. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes open communication and mutual understanding to ensure successful project execution.
Budget Management: Manage budgetary allocations for existing and upcoming projects, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to financial guidelines. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising project quality or timelines.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards within the defense industry. Ensure that all projects and contracts adhere to legal requirements, contractual obligations, and ethical practices.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, enabling them to achieve individual and collective goals effectively.
