Composite Technician
Job Summary:
The Composite Technician with Aerospace and/or Aviation experience will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing composite materials used in the construction of aerospace components and structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in composite materials, processes, and aerospace industry standards. This is a 1.5 month contract with potential for extension/conversion to direct hire employee.
Key Responsibilities:
Composite Fabrication: Manufacture composite components using various techniques such as lay-up, vacuum bagging, resin infusion, and autoclave curing, while adhering to strict quality standards and design specifications.
Assembly and Integration: Assemble composite parts into larger structures, collaborating with engineers and other technicians to ensure proper fit, alignment, and functionality.
Surface Preparation: Prepare composite surfaces for bonding, finishing, and painting by sanding, cleaning, and applying appropriate treatments.
Quality Control: Perform inspections, measurements, and tests to verify that composite components meet established quality standards, making necessary adjustments and repairs as required.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials used, processes followed, and work performed, contributing to process improvement and traceability.
Tool Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain various hand and power tools, molds, and equipment used in composite fabrication.
Repair and Maintenance: Identify and perform repairs on damaged composite components, utilizing knowledge of composite materials and repair techniques.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
