Cyber Security Engineer (Secret Clearance Preferred)
Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the security of our organization's information systems. With a focus on implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures, this position requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, DOD 8570 certifications (IAT or IAM), and hands-on experience in securing complex systems. This is a 6 month contract to direct hire, active Secret clearance preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Implementation: Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect the organization's information systems, networks, and data.
Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans, including monitoring and responding to security incidents and breaches.
Compliance: Ensure that all cybersecurity measures and protocols comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Network Security: Configure and maintain network security devices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
Security Policies: Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and access controls to safeguard sensitive information.
Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor security logs and alerts, analyze threats, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Security Awareness: Provide security training and awareness programs to employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, incidents, and remediation efforts.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into system design and development processes.
