Drupal Developer

Project Description                                                                                                                                                                      The team works on migrating multiple scientific sites to Drupal in the support for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Rockville, Maryland. The project is organized into cross-functional teams that work closely with stakeholders, Product Managers, and designers.


 Position Description                                                                                                                                                                  The Drupal Developer will be an integral key member of the team that brings their Drupal and LAMP development experience and expertise to perform the project with high quality within strict timelines. The position is ideal for a middle-level Drupal expert who can work independently, deliver in time and with high quality standards.


The position is initially for six (6) month with possible for long term extension.



Develop custom content-focused Drupal modules using Drupal 7, PHP, JavaScript, or other languages
Promote CMS component updates to higher environments
Provide configuration support for CMS modules, Apache, and Linux environment
Ensure consistency with an established software development architecture
Be a part of development team to create practical solutions in Agile environment
Be an expert to research and identify technical solution



 Required Qualifications                                                                                                                                                          

Minimum of four (4+) years of extensive Drupal development skills
In-depth experience working with Drush
Working knowledge of git, github, build, and deployment tools
Ability to write modules that create custom solutions
Knowledgeable working in Linux environment
Excellent problem solving skills
Take ownership and work independently on a large portion of a project with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively with a team with strict requirements under time pressure
Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
Must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance



 Preferred Qualifications                                                                                                                                                         

Experience developing migration scripts
Full LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) is a plus
Experience with site integration, promotion and update of CMS configurations
Ability in formulating and implementing IT solutions to meet business requirements
