Job Description:

  • Able to perform duties independently.
  • Provides application configuration and functional use of either Java, J2EE and web services, or PeopleSoft applications.
  • Responsible for identifying and documenting all specific functional requirements associated with implementing the application.
  • Develops a comprehensive functional description of current and future system and process requirements through structured interviews, fit/gap sessions, focus groups, documentation reviews and other data gathering techniques.
  • Interfaces with technical personnel to identify specific system requirements and risks.
  • Works directly with client functional staff members to elicit specific application views and requirements to ensure that the final system incorporates required functionality.
  • Acts as liaison between Project Subject Matter Experts and development team.
  • Acts as the customer advocate within the project development team. Conducts User Acceptance Testing.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a computer-related field.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree:  An Associate’s Degree, combined with an additional two (2) years of relevant experience can be substituted or, Four (4) years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • Three (3) years experience in the development of functional requirements materials with emphasis and/or experience in requirements elicitation.
  • Experience in producing functional requirements materials for information technology systems.
  • Experience developing functional and systems requirements from materials provided by functional subject matter experts.
  • Experience working with developers to develop technical requirement from functional requirements.
  • Demonstrated writing skills in developing requirements elicitation plans, user acceptance testing plans, and materials, etc.
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills through mid-level management briefings.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite desktop applications, specifically MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
