Project Coordinator (Scheduler)



Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors and employees to determine progress of work and completion dates; requisitioning low stock inventories; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.


Key Objectives:


·         Development and continuous management of master production schedule.


Development and continuous management of resource forecast schedule.


Development and generation of production status reports of all open projects.


Compile and release QMS specified data package for all open projects.


Meet or improve target ship dates for all open projects.


Monitor and suggest improvements to attain QMS goals for reducing rework.



Primary Responsibilities:


·         Coordinate project schedules and integrate them into a master production schedule.


Provide resource forecast to Operations, Engineering and Program Managers.


Provide task completion and production status reports to Project Managers.


Manage materials for assigned projects to ensure continuous work flow on shop floor and insure revenue milestones are met consistently.


Develop and execute plans to mitigate schedule slippage.


Identify and coordinate ordering of special and inventoried material.


Manage parts orders from job notification thru shipment to customer.


Generate and issue “Pick List” for production.


Secondary Responsibilities:


·         Advise management on matters of process and implement processes for improvement.


Coordinate with the Quality department to assure the best product possible is shipped to the customers.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility, however is responsible for directing the team that works on the specific project tasks including Project Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, CAD Designer, and Video Technicians.



Essential Skills and Experience:


·          Proficient in Algebra, Grammar, Project Scheduling, and Technical Writing.


Recommended course work in Project Management.


Knowledge about shop operations and inventory management.





Job Description


·    Knowledge about procurement practices and policies.


·          Microsoft Office Applications; including Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Company ERP database applications (Currently Vantage by Epicor).


Ability to generate corporate correspondence.


Ability to comprehend technical drawings (mechanical and electrical) and datasheets.


Proficient in decimal and metric measuring system.


Understanding and use of quality/customer service and procedures: NCR, DMR, Corrective Actions, etc.


Beneficial Skills and Experience:


·          ERP database applications, in particular ERP database 6.n and 8.n by Epicor.


Knowledge of processes, methods, and technologies involved in fabrication and basic understanding of design methods for manufacturability.


General understanding of industrial manufacturing, inventory, and quality processes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually is working in an office/desk environment. The employee has access to the production floor which includes moving mechanical parts and machinery used in fabrication of control room systems.
