Great QA Engineer Opportunity in McLean, VA. Must be US CITIZEN and able to get a DOD clearance.
Ideal candidate is a team player, has ability to cultivate professional relationships in a multi-team environment. This person will have experience working in a fast paced, multiple projects agile development environment with verifiable experience in practices such as DevOps, Scrum, CI/CD, and Kanban. The person will have hands on experience with one or more CI/CD pipeline orchestration tools such as Jenkins, application lifecycle management (ALM) tools such as TFS, JIRA and open source and licensed plugins that go along with these. The person will be directly responsible for ensuring quality of 3-5 agile projects and following a metrics based quality management approach for continuously improving the product and process quality.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Participating in agile ceremonies, agile reviews, including system releases throughout the customer's Agile-System Engineering Life Cycle (A-SELC) and serve as an Agile coach assisting clients in articulating and defining their user stories, business requirements, etc.
Conducting assessments of artifacts, such as Program Oversight Plans (POP), User Stories, Product Backlogs and Burn Down charts, Test Plans, test scripts, test designs, System Design Documents, Capabilities and Constraints (CAC), Team Process Agreements (TPA), Release Characteristics and Interface Control Agreements (ICA)
Conducting analysis and reviews in accordance with defined client and industry standards, analyzing results, formulating recommendations, determining and maintaining appropriate metrics, and preparing formal reports
Ensuring the deployments are following agile configuration management plan and guidelines
Participating in gate reviews for all phases of the customer’s A-SELC
Assisting in preparing the business case justification for technical investment decisions
Reviewing, evaluating, and assessing documentation of the user stories, system specifications, system design, interface specifications, interface control documents, and system test methods.
Analyzing data and metrics from dashboard of CI/CD automated pipeline toolsets to determine the health of a project release cycle
Monitoring Agile information radiators such as Product Backlog, burndown/burnup charts, velocity, story point estimations, Cumulative Flow Diagrams, WIP limits, lead and cycle times, etc.
Monitoring build and test-related data to assess project release successes/rollbacks/production issues, testing issues, defect tracking/resolution
Working as a team member with other technical staff and section 508 experts
Assisting with developing flow charts and diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes
Documenting system problems and resolutions for future reference
Conducting technical research on system upgrades to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current and future systems
Reviewing test cases, test scripts, test code, and business scenario tests based on specifications/process procedures
Performing both manual and automated requirements management, requirements traceability, and configuration management
5 Years of Experience working in the Agile (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) environment including some experience in DevOps practices
Proficient is using automated tools sets to support the Agile and DevOps methodologies: Agile-Jira, Rally, Jenkins, Team Foundation Server (TFS), HP Quality Center, GitLab, GitHub. Subversion, Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber, or other Agile/Testing toolsets
Strong oral and written communication skills
Work location is based in McLean/Tyson’s corner and is accessible by Metro Silver line
