Candidate will provide Server administration support services for all platforms to a DoD Agency. Candidate evaluate systems performance and make recommendations for improvement. Candidate must be able to monitor the performance of installed systems and initiate appropriate action to optimize/ correct systems shortfalls. Candidate must be able to Install, review, evaluate and report on the performance of IT systems hardware and software; develop and recommend performance evaluation techniques, optimization procedures, models and other hardware and software systems improvements. The work is performed Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Candidate must have knowledge and expertise in the following:
Conduct technical and diagnostic IT hardware and software analyses to determine the cause of system abnormalities
Research, analyze, correct, and document software problems, report them to vendors and provides corrective processing solutions.
Support the COOP program to include IT hardware and software recovery support and coordinate the recovery effort with contracted personnel and organizations.
Initiate or analyze requirements; design, develop and maintain operational support software such as Powershell scripts.
Provide technical expertise with specifications for the acquisition of IT equipment, including hardware and software systems, network and systems interfaces, OSs devices and products, and software to support existing and planned application systems.
Condjuct problem analysis, definition, solution and recovery from operation malfunctions involving system software, hardware, telecommunications, etc.
Evaluate and implement all technical standards relative to the operations of DLA computer rooms and IT infrastructure.
Apply the appropriate OS patches to keep servers at the most current level of OS version using Enterprise standard tools for updating and patching.
Ensure all servers are in compliance with the STIG issued by DISA and apply patches/updates as required.
