Lab QA Assistant

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Primary Duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

Support the Quality Management System and Quality System and all documents belonging to the quality system
Review and monitor corrective and preventive actions reports (CAR/PAR)
Review and approve training plans, validation plans, validation reports, test reports, proficiency results, and forms that are controlled by the quality systems
Conduct internal audits
Maintain training folders containing records of relevant authorization(s), competence, educational/professional qualifications, training, skills, and experience of essential personnel
Conduct training sessions to maintain a culture of quality pertaining to ISO 17025
Follow all safety regulations as outlined in the SOPs
Demonstrated ability to seek, learn, and apply new skills and knowledge to perform job responsibilities
Complete tasks ahead of schedule


Job Specifications (Required Qualifications)

Ability to foster a quality-driven environment
Effective communication (both orally and in writing) and excellent listening skills are necessary
Strong persuasive skills while also receptive to suggestions for improvement

Must be able to maintain flexibility to meet business needs (including, but not limited to early/late hours and/or weekend hours)
Customer-focused; Must provide excellent customer service
Compose effective and efficient reports and correspondence
Multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet required deadlines
Handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem-solving manner
Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Formulate, track and brief control charts


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Level Degree in a scientific discipline from an accredited institution
Active USG clearance or no less than 18 months from last debrief
2 years of laboratory experience in a position with a primary duty of maintaining program quality where ISO 17025 or equivalent standard was implemented

Highly organized and detailed oriented; Motivated – demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Self-starter; takes initiative to resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to seek, learn, and apply new skills/knowledge to perform job responsibilities
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers by treating all individuals with dignity, respect and courtesy


Physical Requirements

Hearing and speech sufficient to verbally communicate in person and on the telephone consistently (66-100%)
Mobility to consistently (66-100%) alternate between sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, etc. as required to perform job responsibilities
Requires occasional (1-5%) ability to lift a minimum of 100 pounds with assistance
