Safety Manager

MUST HAVE OSHA 500 Certification

This competent person is responsible for monitoring, administering and enforcing all Contractors’ safety programs, Project Documents, OSHA Standards and all the federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations. As well as other administrative duties as assigned.

These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Have a designation of Construction Safety and Health Technician (CSHT)

• Comply with all applicable OSHA and DC laws, regulations, ordinances, conditions of contract, rules or orders of any public authority having jurisdiction relating to safety of persons or property

• Attend and contribute to Safety portion of project meetings

• Hold weekly Toolbox Talks meetings with all company employees

• Complete daily jobsite check lists

• Recordkeeping as it relates to accidents or job related illness including safety records, inspection reports and certifications

• Daily inspection and recommendations of tools, ladders & electrical cords

• Maintain adequate supplies of safety equipment

• Be completely familiar with all applicable health and safety requirements of all governing legislation, and ensure compliance with same

• Minimum of 3 years experience in heavy construction

• Post and update all safety notices and appropriate instructions and warning signs regarding safety and health regulations

• Prepare, complete and submit daily, monthly and weekly logs and reports as needed

• Accept and off load deliveries as needed

• Ensure quality control for the project as it relates to material, safety and administrative functions

• Administrative duties – phones, faxes, mail


Must be proficient in Microsoft office suites including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
