Purchasing Agent in Temple Hills, MD
Will be coordinating activities involved with fire alarm, security, sprinkler and tele data procuring goods and services such as materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies by performing the following duties.
Negotiates the purchase of miscellaneous purchase orders with vendors after conducting buy-outs of orders as needed. Prepare, issue purchase orders and change notices. Data entry in the system for purchase orders.
Follow up on all back orders and try to expedite them.
Maintain procurement records for our project jobs, work with the project managers on job releases.
Responsible for processing all paperwork for back charges and hold invoices and explaining why this process is being performed.
Assist other buyers with material being returned for credit or defects.
Contacting vendors to make sure they issue the credit or replacement items.
Maintaining a library of books to help with research for Life Safety and VDV.
Maintain inventory for Life Safety products that are not readily available for will call.
Assist the Field Service Center in sending out tools for repair and calibration.
Work with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
Assist the engineering department with prices and take some orders from other contractors.
Keep current prices on an excel spreadsheet for Life Safety and VDV.
Do the research for the fire alarm techs.
Keep a tool purchase report for the Technologies group and a vendor purchase report.
Keep track of Leviton and Avaya purchases for rebates.
Do Avaya warranties for customers on the Internet.
Send out technical notices from fire alarm vendors to all technicians.
Research new testing tools for Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, VDV and Security.
Back-up to purchasing group.
Looking for at least 5 years of experience in Life Safety and Voice Data Video purchases of materials, tools and equipment purchases.
