Business Analyst

Job Description

Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modeling, verification and methodology development.
The Business Analyst shall have knowledge and hands on experience in acquiring higher level requirements from customer and also interpreting them at lower level for developers
The Business Analyst needs a software development background and understands code to be successful in this position.
Strong knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Highly self motivated and directed.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
Strong customer service orientation.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
Successful candidate will be required to pass an Office of Personnel and Management (OPM) person of trust background check.

Job Duties:

The Business  Analyst will work on multiple requests simultaneously with a high level of quality in a timely manner.
The Business  Analyst will plan projects and provide status reports to management as scheduled.
The Business  Analyst will realize when a request is out of scope or poses unusual time or technical challenges and notify the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
The analyst will demonstrate a high level of expertise in process workflows and standard operating procedures as it pertains to systems, software, and hardware design / development. Must be knowledgeable about IT / Financial Services business in general.
Preferred requirements also include a team player, great communications skills, and full of energy. 

Position & Responsibilities:

Creates and maintains documentation (process work flows, standard operating procedures, user guides, data dictionaries, etc.).
Develops an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact the solution.
Identify sources of requirements.
Develops Requirements Management Plans.
Identify and document all business, technical, product and process requirements.
Work with clients to prioritize and define requirements.
Develop requirements traceability document.
Enforce adherence to configuration management and change control.
Ensure that the requirements cover Section 508 accessibility requirements.
Support requirements for IT security certification and accreditation (C&A).
Manage and document requirements according to the selected methodology.
Actively participate in IT design reviews to ensure compatibility and interoperability.
Performs cost analysis for proposed systems.
