The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) manages multifaceted new construction PV projects with a laser focus on safety, quality, schedule and financial metrics. Typical projects are 1-7 MWdc in size with project budgets of $1-15 Million. The CPM is the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholder teams to execute the projects successfully.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, execute, monitor, control and close out and complete PV projects
- Serve as a key point of contact for concise communications to the client, ReVision Energy management, and other key stakeholders
- Work with estimating team to develop project budgets and find cost savings opportunities without sacrificing safety, quality, or customer experience
- Develop and manage project schedules, anticipate bottlenecks, and find opportunities to accelerate critical path items
- Maintain an excellent understanding of all project contract agreements and requirements.
- Coordinate design and permitting activities with the engineering team and local authorities
- Coordinate with Procurement team to assure all materials required to maintain project budget, schedule and specifications are ordered and released appropriately
- Effectively coordinate all construction activities and schedules with multiple vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project schedules and completion timeframe requirements.
- Assure all subcontractors and suppliers meet or exceed the safety and quality standards of ReVision Energy
- Coordinate with O+M team for QC inspections and punch list completion items
- Other tasks as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years construction and project management experience; ideally within the ground mounted solar installation space
- Strong understanding of civil and site work
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, structural and civil construction processes and requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software including Microsoft Project and Dynamics or other Project Management software
- Highly capable decision making, planning, leadership and communication skills in rapidly changing, stressful and time sensitive environments
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts and the ability to meet or exceed all contractual obligations while minimizing punch list items
- High technical understanding of working with utilities and AHJ’s
- Knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Experience with medium voltage equipment and utility interconnections
- Contract negotiation / conflict resolution
