DSP/FPGA Engineer
Growing government contractor looking to bring a FPGA Engineer to their team. Viable candidates will nee be US Citizens.
We are looking for a DSP/FPGA engineer for two different Contracts. It is best if this individual is local, within driving distance of our facility. Need a DSP/FPGA embedded C engineer. He will work with the Lead Scientist/Architecture Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Waveform development will be done by Chief Scientist. Candidate will focus on implementation and port of “ C Code” design (i.e., waveform) to our customer targeted platform. A two-phase process. Phase I - We’ll initially port to a Freescale DSP56K DSP. We have developed and ported other waveforms to this same board and chip. Phase II – we’ll port waveform from DSP to a Xilinx Micro blaze Soft Processor Core on the same board. Xenotran’ s Chief Scientist will architect and design the code, including develop the Modulation Function and Demodulation & Decode Function, which again will initially execute in the DSP56K. Then, Xenotran will port this same Management Waveform Modulation Function and Demodulation & Decode Function to the Xilinx Micro blaze Soft Processor Core, which will be implemented in the Xilinx Artix FPGA.
Contractor will spend initial needed time to turn up the platforms, understand current implementation, etc. Then, he’ll be able to remotely network in. Contractor will be responsible for testing and porting the design to the (2) targeted chips on the same platform. He will mainly work directly with the Chief Scientist. Contractor must have experience with wireless engineering, such as commercial cellular, Wi-Fi or SATCOM (preferred). This is a SATCOM application.
Porting a complex UHF SATCOM Waveform to a targeted board.
