Job Description: Accountant / Admin
Compensation: $45k-$55k
Position Overview: The Accountant / Admin role is a hybrid position that combines accounting responsibilities with administrative tasks. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the company's financial operations and overall administrative processes. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. They should be able to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Process and review expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget variances.
- Prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to assist in decision-making.
- Monitor financial trends and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance.
Administrative Tasks:
- Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
- Schedule meetings and appointments for company executives.
- Maintain organized filing systems for both physical and digital documents.
- Support the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork and orientation.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of audit materials and collaborate with auditors during audits.
Communication and Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial/administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
