Job Description: Accountant / Admin

Compensation: $45k-$55k

Position Overview: The Accountant / Admin role is a hybrid position that combines accounting responsibilities with administrative tasks. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the company's financial operations and overall administrative processes. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. They should be able to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounting Duties:

    • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, invoices, receipts, and payments.
    • Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
    • Process and review expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
    • Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget variances.
    • Prepare financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  2. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

    • Process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
    • Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs.
  3. Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to assist in decision-making.
    • Monitor financial trends and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance.
  4. Administrative Tasks:

    • Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and phone calls.
    • Schedule meetings and appointments for company executives.
    • Maintain organized filing systems for both physical and digital documents.
    • Support the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork and orientation.
  5. Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

    • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and other statutory requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of audit materials and collaborate with auditors during audits.
  6. Communication and Team Collaboration:

    • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial/administrative role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
