Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled AV Technician with specialized knowledge in handling Cat5 and Cat6 cables to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audio-visual systems and extensive experience in the installation, termination, and testing of Cat5 and Cat6 cables. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable installation of AV systems, with a particular emphasis on the proper management of Cat5 and Cat6 cabling infrastructure. This position is 75% national travel with all travel expenses paid for.

Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, and test Cat5 and Cat6 cables to support the deployment of audio-visual systems, ensuring high-quality connectivity and signal transmission.

• Collaborate with the AV engineering team to understand project requirements and specifications for the implementation of Cat5 and Cat6 cabling infrastructure.

• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the most effective routing and management of Cat5 and Cat6 cables within the AV system setup.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the connectivity, performance, or integrity of Cat5 and Cat6 cabling, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.

• Coordinate with the AV Site Supervisor and other team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of AV system installations.

• Maintain accurate documentation of all installed Cat5 and Cat6 cables, including labeling, configuration details, and testing results.

• Assist in the setup and configuration of audio-visual equipment, including displays, projectors, and sound systems, as needed.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AV technology and Cat5/Cat6 standards, incorporating new knowledge and techniques into the installation and maintenance process.
