Quality Specialist 

Job Location:  Orlando, FL                     

Education and Experience: Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as quality assurance or quality engineering.  Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation application software.  Highly desirable to have an extensive experience in WDS and material control. Understand and be able to work to AS9100 and ISO 9001 regulations.  High school education plus additional education, training or certifications equal to 2 years of college.   3 to 5 years of aerospace/quality assurance experience.

Develop and implement plans to accomplish program objectives that support schedule and meet contract objectives.  May have to work with and interpret blueprints, drawings and mil-specs in accordance with government and/or customer contract requirements.  Monitor status of master plan and all related department plans and schedules to ensure milestones are accomplished.  Identify problems in the program and assure a plan is developed in coordination with other operating departments for implementing corrective actions.  Perform Process Audits and Internal Audits to ensure production activities conforms to requirements and the products meet customers’ expectations. Initiate corrective action, if appropriate.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Work under the general direction of the Quality Manager with a minimum of supervision.  Is responsible for the management of moderately complex or single quality assurance engineering programs or function.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership on quality issues concerning both customers and internal programs to assure effective cause, corrective and preventive action; monitor for continued effectiveness.  Participate in program reviews and product cell meetings. 
  • Provide recommendations for improved contractual performance. 
  • Serve as liaison between customers and management to ensure customer programmatic requirements, cost and schedule are maintained. 
  • May be required to develop and present quality and reliability issues/concerns to customers. Assist in the development and presentation of training programs, as needed.
  • Follow standard departmental and company procedures as outlined by management.  Have ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
