EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Broad knowledge of a general technical field such electronics manufacturing and quality assurance. Knowledge of personal computer and associated application software needed. Fluent verbal and written communication skills as well as an understanding of AS9100 quality requirements, auditing and quality inspections techniques. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. 10 to 13 years of progressive manufacturing engineering/quality experience.
Works under the general direction of the Manager, Quality and is an active member of a manufacturing cell or design engineering team. Is responsible for providing manufacturing producibility expertise, quality requirements and/or design alternatives as defined by assigned projects. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform quality engineering and production engineering functions required to satisfy customer requirements for scheduled shipments, contractual data requirements list (CDRL) items, non-forming material as well as daily direction to quality/engineering planning, inspection, test and assembly personnel within the cell and/or design team. Is responsible for compliance with quality systems requirements and procedures within a cell. May design production line layouts as well as manufacturing tooling needs and concepts.
Technical Lead – Provide technical guidance to Product Assurance Engineers (PAE’s) and Quality Engineers (QE’s) and make comprehensive technical decisions.
Participate in periodic program reviews with management, identifying program issues, status of non-conforming items (NCR), corrective actions, failure analyses, expected recovery dates and recommendations for improved contractual performance.
Identify metric to illustrate cell or design team status and identify corrective actions. Is responsible for any quality planning that may be needed on assigned project. Directly interface with Senior Management and Customer on technical issues whether it be during design phase, Failure Review Board (FRB’s), or a correction action relating to the product.
