Growing Government Contractor has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator:
System Administration as it relates to installation, implementation, operations, and maintenance of hardware and software associated with servers, Local Area Networks (LAN’s), Wide Area Networks (WAN’s) and associated communications in accordance with the Configuration management plan.
-Set up service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and hardware, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products, troubleshooting hardware/software issues assist with the development of the configuration management plan and the system maintenance plans.
-Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
-As required assist in the development of policies and standards related to the use of computing resources, overall strategy, design, implementation, and operational aspects of multiple systems, operating environments, and related software.
-Schedules, plans, and oversees system upgrades.
-Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years or related experience in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Additional years’ experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
-At least three (3) years’ experience providing or supporting installation, maintenance, and administration of system software in either a mainframe, client-server, and/or web-based environment as described in the task (e.g., system administration of UNIX systems, Microsoft Windows, web servers, etc.) is required.
-Must demonstrate good communication skills
CLEARANCE: This position requires a Secret clearance.
