We are currently looking to hire a senior rail engineer/PM in the DC Metro area.
Develop intimate knowledge and understanding of Contract requirements related to rail system design, materials, equipment, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Review trackwork-related submittals, including shop drawings, product submittals, test reports, test plans, and any other related documentation. Provide comments to contractor’s submissions, criteria, and good industry practices. Recommend acceptance or rejection of reviewed documentation as applicable.
Participate in progress meetings to monitor the Contractor’s construction, quality control, testing and safety certification of the facilities, equipment and systems for trackwork
Ensure quality of rail construction and testing activities. Ensure that work is in conformance with our standards, criteria, drawings, specifications, and approved test procedures.
Make frequent visits to site and audit and oversee trackwork construction and commissioning activities. Prepare field report of each visit and document observed work and any deficiencies identified.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent business and technical writing
Minimum of 10 years relevant professional is desired.
At least 5 years direct experience in the engineering, installation, and commissioning of track in a heavy rail transit system.
