Press Operator Assistants

Need 2 press assistants!

3.5 month contract to hire positions

Pay rate is 10 dollars an hour to start out and then when converted they get paid 13 an hour.

Need mechanical skills, very reliable work history and capable to work in a manufacturing environment.

2nd shift positions 3:30pm to midnight.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure daily activities are conducted at all times in a safe and proper manner.

Working overtime as workload, personnel schedules or Customer demands suggest.

Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Organize and maintain supply inventories at the press.

Ensure raw materials are allocated to the job as required.  Ensure excess raw materials are returned to inventory as required.

Set up equipment at the direction of the Press Operator, and based on job specifications, to meet appropriate requirements of the job specification.  Communicate any set up issues to the Press Operator.

Run the equipment in a safe and effective manner while Press Operator is away from the press.

Have a basic understanding and operational capability of the entire press and all related auxiliary equipment.

Perform quality checks prior to production and monitor print quality during production.  Communicate any potential quality issues to the Press Operator or Supervisor.

Ability to use the Xrite color management software, the barcode scanning software, and inspection systems.

Work in conjunction with the Press Operator to ensure timely staging of work as well as efficient handling of materials and supplies.

Understand all related aspects of the job jacket and management information system to ensure paperwork, records, documents, etc. are accurate and all required information is entered timely and accurately into the management information system and/or on approved forms.

Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communications with employees and managers.

Proactively suggest new and better methods to improve departments’ daily activities.

Communicate daily with the Press Operator and/or Supervisor on matters of importance which could negatively impact quality, cost, safety, or employee morale.

Effectively and appropriately communicate daily with auxiliary departments regarding matters which could impact your ability to effectively produce quality product.

Assist in auxiliary departments and processes as needed to support press requirements.

Ability to effectively use and understand all material handling equipment.

Participate in efficiency improvement/waste reduction programs.

Assist in preventive maintenance, including repairs and adjustments, as required, on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Strive to meet Company targets as related to production efficiencies, quality, and waste.

Consistently perform all pre-determined required daily duties as outlined by the Company, the Press Operator, the Supervisor and the Plant Manager.
