Pre Sales Technical Solutions Architect
The Business Entity
The position of Solutions Architect is a pre-sales technical position, which requires a balance of technical acumen and sales experience.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the sales team focused on the various customers.
Role & Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to have strong proven experience in the following primary responsibilities that make-up the role:
Engagement with the technical decision maker within the Enterprise accounts with identified Data Center opportunities.
Technical leadership in developing and positioning innovative architecture solutions to meet customer requirements
Driving and working as part of a technical team that could include account system engineer, ecosystem engineer, channel partner pre-sales, technical solutions network engineers
Developing bill of materials that reflect the architectural solutions
Contributing to the response RFI, RFP and RFQ document that might be issued by customers
Developing and executing bench-mark-testing (BMT) efforts in order to win the technical competitive
Developing and maintaining relationship with the technical Data Center community: Technical Directors, system integrators and ecosystem vendors.
Being a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in Data Center technology areas is also part of the role
The successful candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience as a pre-sales technical resource with Data Center vendors.
Candidates must demonstrate strong skills and experience in both Data Center technology areas and pre-sales areas:
DC Technology skills and experience (in at least 5 areas)
x86 HPC compute hardware
storage and data management systems
Data Center networks and network services, to include InfiniBand
Data Center operations using scripting tools and languages
Hypervisor technologies as an architect, design engineer or operations
Operating systems: Linux, Microsoft Windows, GPFS, Lustre, etc.
Enterprise applications and/or Development environments
SDN Technologies, OpenDayLight, Openflow, Openstack, NSX
big data (Hadoop) infrastructure
Docker skills a plus
Private/hybrid cloud deployment
The ability to contribute performance-related expertise to cross-team activities that may involve application performance tuning, interconnects, storage I/O, and data analysis functions. The ability to make physical changes to hardware components to server systems.
Demonstrated understanding of HPC computer architecture issues including CPU, memory, interconnect, parallel I/O performance tuning, and networking performance.

Candidate must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent industry certification.
