Our client is an independent consulting firm founded to assist energy users and associated organizations to maximize their cost reduction and productivity benefits in the ever-changing energy marketplace. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team.
Review ESCO proposals and Investment Grade Audits; including their Measurement & Verification, commissioning, O&M, and training plans, energy savings calculations, energy models, ECM cost build-up, markups, and energy escalations.
Report to and assist Executive Director of Engineering on project activities.
Investigate pre-project conditions, conduct preliminary audits (including existing equipment and operating parameters), and attend commissioning and acceptance testing.
Attend and/or witness commissioning and acceptance testing; report on results.
Prepare assessments of feasibility study reports and investment grade audits completed by ESCOs to ensure technical viability of proposed energy conservation measures and energy saving capital projects to generate the anticipated energy and process improvements including review of baseline conditions/calculations, ECM savings, calculations and scopes, M&V approach/plans, capital cost estimates, operating parameters, engineering drawings and project submittals.
Prepare information requests for clients/consultants to address and resolve deficiencies.
Prepare the necessary reports to manage and monitor project progress.
Collaboratively work with the multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure reviews and recommendations are completed to professional standards.
Review and comment on Commissioning Reports, M&V Reports, and other Close-Out documentation.
Provide assistance/insight/guidance to Owners and ESCO Teams regarding planned approach to execution of an ESPC Project.
Conduct walk-through audits of large commercial/industrial/institutional facilities to identify energy conservation opportunities, recommend steps to investigate and implement the opportunities, and provide written reports of findings.
Act as a team-lead and mentor junior staff.
Keep abreast of technology trends and changes in this rapidly evolving market.
Interact with senior-level facilities personnel as required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering discipline
7 or more years of energy related project experience that includes knowledge of HVAC and control systems, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable practices for building properties, new building construction, and industrial manufacturing operations.
Experience in all aspects of Energy Service Performance Contract (ESPC) Projects including Preliminary Assessments (PA), Investment Grade Audit (IGA), Implementation, and Post-Acceptance Period (Performance Period)which entails Operations, Maintenance, Repair and Replacement (OMR&R) practices and Measurement and Verification (M&V) practices
Experience in energy engineering and project management with strong technical knowledge of energy efficiency practices and programs
Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
Must be willing to travel as required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Auto Cad read/review, and Energy Modeling is required
Professional Engineer (in MD), Certified Energy Manager, and Certified M&V Professional are preferred
