DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute social media strategy, promoting high-profile articles, reports, op-eds, etc. produced by our client.
Create content for and measure engagement with our client's social media platforms to meet goals for growth in online presence and social media audience.
Generate successful headlines and content, making frequent posts that attract new users while keeping existing ones engaged.
Track and report on site-wide and social analytics for staff, board and funders.
Use analytics tools to routinely measure usage and impact, and to make recommendations for site improvements and adjusted social strategy to ensure growth of network.
Keep abreast of new online trends and opportunities for our client to expand its social presence.
Guide staff to use best practices online.
Produce a weekly newsletter, measure and report on its growth and impact.
Maintain a press contacts list and manage our client's media outreach and relations with reporters and media outlets.
Represent our client in presentations, at conferences, in collaborative groups focusing on government transparency and money-in-politics. Develop and implement online trainings.
Help develop promotional materials, including print, online, mobile and video resources.
Help improve the readability of the website for the common visitor.
Other duties as assigned.
Manage online Action and Learning Centers, coordinating design and implementation of advocacy and educational resource portals.
Track and blog about opportunities for our client and its audience to advocate for a more transparent government and political system.
BA/BS degree in communications or related field.
At least three years' experience in communications, social media promotion and analytics, citizen outreach, with proven success in social media engagement. Event promotion/development a plus.
Demonstrated success creating content for the website, social media, blog posts and email blasts.
Strong communications skills, especially for external audiences, including writing and public speaking ability. Familiarity with AP style.
Proficient use of Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Facebook Insights; experience with Parse.ly, other analytics software a plus.
Proficient with MailChimp, WordPress and data visualization software such as Tableau. MS Access ideal. Exemplary organizational acumen with well-developed multitasking skills.
A good understanding of the U.S. political system and money's role therein.
