Event Conference Planner

Position Description: Conference Planner MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE. 

PRIMARY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Advises T&E Range Oversight customer on outreach matters pertaining to the sustainability and encroachment of the Department of Defense’s T&E infrastructure.  Performs outreach required to meet identified encroachment challenges to DoD test infrastructure.  Provides the forum to educate stakeholders on the DoD mission and sustainment of the DoD infrastructure.  Activities include liaising with various groups both internal and external to the DoD to include other federal, state, tribal, and non-governmental organizations and industry and conference/meeting planning.  Duties include coordinating for facilities including meeting and lodging space, audio visual and catering services; designing, developing, organizing, and maintaining a website for information dissemination and registration; develop and publish an agenda and organize associated content and on-site execution; produce management tools to include a master planning schedule, cost tracking, financial and status reports including an after action report following each event.  Ensure events are executed on time and on budget.  

 

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

Outstanding interpersonal and writing skills, professional appearance and countenance.  Experience in conference planning in the range of 750 attendees.  Proficient in Microsoft Professional Office Suite in a Windows environment.  Comfortable interacting with high level individuals from diverse backgrounds and functioning well in a fast passed, high pressure team environment.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

 

Experience and familiarity with DoD structure, program processes and terminology and range infrastructure and associated environmental programs and sustainability efforts.
