The candidate will apply their knowledge of security and related technologies, including access control, closed circuit video, intrusion detection, intercom, media display, radio communication systems, and LAN/WAN networks, to the application, design and implementation of security systems.
The candidate will provide support and execute assigned tasks related to the field assessment, design, and engineering of security systems. The candidate will need to attend and support meetings with clients, contractors, interdisciplinary consultants, and other project team members as part of the security team; conduct security equipment surveys, research and define appropriate equipment and technologies, analyze and assess constructability, support development of security specifications and design drawings for bid, review contractor submittals; and verify implementation in the field. Additional tasks include task management in support of local project managers, preparation of construction cost estimates, field auditing of installing contractors, and CADD design work.
Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in electrical engineering or industrial technology and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a consulting environment. Strong consideration will also be given to candidates with an Associate’s Degree and a minimum 5 of years’ experience as a Security System Engineer/Designer or Security Integrator.
Desired Skills: Experience or training in computer and network security. Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD. BIM experience and familiarity with console design and ergonomics is a plus.
