Our client is seeking a dynamic, energetic and outgoing professional to fill the role of School Data Analyst in our Information Technology Department. The Analyst works closely with the Director of Business Intelligence and the Department of Schools on all school data and information initiatives. The position acts as the primary data analyst for student and school performance-related data, providing functional support to all student and school data end users.
Some of the essential functions of this job include:
Monitors information needs of the Department of Schools, including reports; makes technical recommendations to modify existing systems and reports as needed.
Extracts data from a student information system (SIS) and assists others in utilizing this system.
Develops queries and reports as needed.
Serves as primary liaison with standardized testing vendors and analyzes information related to standardized test scores, enrollment trends and other indicators of a school’s academic viability.
Assists with improving the awareness of data with schools and archdiocesan departments.
Supports the processes for geocoding student data.
Works with SIS Manager to implement and support PowerSchool in production environment.
An ideal candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Statistics
Three to five years’ experience in business analysis—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with report writers such as SQL Server Reporting Services, IBM Cognos, Power BI.
SQL Server experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Experience with SIS systems (PowerSchool), databases, and end user training is required.
Microsoft Word and Excel experience required; MS Access, Project, and Visio experience is a plus.
Experience with the spatial representation of data.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated while also being detail-focused.
