The Operations/Manufacturing Manager plans, directs, implements and tracks standard operating procedures, initiatives and goals for all plant operations and departments. This position reports to the President/CEO and will have six direct reports. The successful candidate will be a college graduate combined with extensive experience in a manufacturing environment; a minimum of ten years in management and a minimum of five years in a plant management capacity.
Duties and responsibilities are:
Provide overall leadership to accomplish Company goals and objectives in the manufacturing sector with primary emphasis on manufacturing scheduling to insure on time deliveries, quality assurance and manufacturing profitability.
Direct, manage and make day-to-day decisions coordinating with department supervisors regarding employee scheduling, manufacturing operations & scheduling, maintenance and quality assurance.
In coordination with appropriate staff; identify, implement, document, track and tweak standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and efficient on-going manufacturing processes.
Responsible for identifying, assigning and follow through of preventative maintenance programs.
Identify & develop goals and objectives for manufacturing department supervisors to improve overall quality and manufacturing performance. Establish benchmarks and monitor overall performance for manufacturing and quality standards.
Plan and coordinate with manufacturing department supervisors and Human Resources in identifying proper staffing requirements to meet objectives and to control labor costs.
Plan and coordinate the maintenance, upgrades and replacement to companywide facilities and capital equipment.
Responsible for the Company's overall floor organization and facility cleanliness.
Serve on Company Safety Committee. Establish and consistently enforce a safety conscious environment.
Identify and develop a cross training program in order to minimize downtime and overtime.
Identify and groom talent for succession into key plant manufacturing and supervisory positions to insure continuity of operations.
Work with engineering, estimating and sales in reviewing and identifying manufacturing processes for existing and potential new business to insure profitability and quality objectives are met.
In coordination with Human Resources, prepare and participate in all manufacturing employees' performance reviews. Prepare and participate in any disciplinary issues and plan of action requirements as they arise.
