Great Systems Administrator opportunity in the Herndon, VA area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned.
Provide documentation of all system changes in advance, communicating with stakeholders any potential impact of changes before they are made, and fully testing all changes before they are made in production.
Provide monitoring, escalation, and support of our internal network infrastructure including Cisco and HP switches, Cisco and Meraki Firewalls, telephone and data circuits, and security constraints.
Provide monitoring and reporting of our systems including servers, SAN, printers, VMWare environment, and Citrix XenApp environment using approved tools in Veeam, Microsoft, Manage Engine, and our other monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools.
Provide configuration, maintenance, and support of our enterprise applications including Hosted Exchange Email, Local Active Directory, DNS services, Sophos antivirus, and WinTeam.
Monitor and suggest improvements to production systems to optimize system performance as it relates to CPU, memory, disk usage, Host workloads, content management, backup, archiving, and security.
Perform Veeam restore jobs from backups as needed.
Manage Tier1 support provider including providing standard procedures. Provide Tier 2-3 end user support including escalations and outsource vendor management for remote and local users. Be the escalation point for VIPs.
Maintain and monitor Security Access to all systems and the network.
Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, resourceful technical skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and in stressful situations required.
Prepare, Test, implement, and maintain Disaster Recovery Procedures.
Maintain inventory control for assets deployed both locally and in remote offices.
Image and deploy new/replacement end user systems per standardized methods.
Assist in the Physical/Logical design of the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Keep current on advances in the Information Technology field.
Evaluate, test, and recommend products to be used by CSC.
Perform other special duties as assigned by the IT Director.
Other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary Degree in Business or Computer Science or related field as well as professional training in Information Technology or a suitable combination of formal education and experience.
5 Years experience in Networking/System Administration in a Windows environment.
LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate and interact with various levels of management, technical resources, vendors, managed service providers, and customers in a professional manner.
Comp TIA A+
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
Technical/Job Specific Knowledge:
Microsoft Windows PC imaging and support.
Experience with networking Protocols (TCP/IP).
Network configuration such as DNS, ACL, IPS, Firewall, Routers and Switches.
Building both Physical and Virtual Servers from Bare Metal.
Managing system updates and patching including WSUS and Manage Engine.
System Log monitoring and using tools such as Manage Engine and Solarwinds.
Monitoring uptime and alerting using tools such as Manage Engine, PRTG, and Web services.
