XMPie VDP Developer

The VDP Developer is responsible for daily contact between our client and one or more client's of their accounts. The VDP Developer interfaces with various agency departments to move projects through on behalf of the client. This includes, but is not limited to, meeting with creative director concerning creative issues, the director of project management concerning print projects, and additional production and traffic managers concerning scheduling and timing.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Create variable-data templates and online storefronts using the XMPie platform and Tecra Accuconnect.
Responsible for multiple projects, end-to-end, including manipulating graphic elements, programming the code, tagging the templates, and configuring the each online storefront.

Create and support dynamically driven cross channel marketing projects via the storefront.
Customize web applications to support online products and client portals.
Self-direct and be able to manage own tasks for ongoing implementations across a variety of client projects.
Collaborate with developers, designers and managers to define and build multichannel campaigns.
Adhere to project scheduling and control practices.
Use project management systems, including multiple internal project management tools.
Coordinate work schedule with teammates to ensure consistent interaction between all team members.
Work independently and within marketing services team on ongoing projects.
Configure job-processing settings, manage job queues, process files, and print jobs. 
Convert digital files to formats such PDF, TIFF, PostScript, XML, etc. for import into document management systems.
Knowledge of key variable data applications i.e. XMPie, PrintShop Mail, Fusion Pro. 
Update content on XMPie storefronts as needed; including uploading artwork thumbnails, order forms and collaborating with the production department to ensure artwork is up to date.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Working knowledge of the following. Ideally a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience.

Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
HTML and CSS
Any VDP platform (XMPie and/or Accuconnect a plus)
Consumer-level data files (Excel, .csv)

 A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with:

SQL databases and/or SQL statements and queries
Experience with XMPie QLingo a plus

Familiarity with an on-demand print production environment.
Ability to think creatively to solve complex multi-faceted projects.
Ability to do a level of project management in tandem with the development.
Goal-oriented, customer-focused approach to reaching the solution.
Quick learner.
Strong communication and problem solving skills. 
Precision and accuracy.
Meet deadlines, adapt to change, multi-task and troubleshoot problems when they arise. 
Proficiency with Variable Data Print software such as XMPie, XMPie Circle or Fusion Pro are preferred.  
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information System and programming language experience is a must.
