Bioscience Sales Manager

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Identify new leads within the bio/pharmaceutical industry requiring the company’s services, and develop leads into business opportunities utilizing company database, industry resources and a personal network of industry contacts.
• Meet quarterly sales targets through managing key accounts, and aggressively marketing company services to new clients.
• Coordinate meetings and presentations between prospective clients and company subject matter experts in order to demonstrate company expertise and drive business wins.
• Represent the company to industry decision-makers at vaccine and biologics conferences, trade shows and other industry events.
• Prepare client-specific presentations and other data to respond to client needs and effectively sell company services.
• Maintain current knowledge of the relevant market and competitors to predict industry trends, develop competitive pricing, and establish long term strategic planning.
• Prepare business proposals to efficiently respond to RFPs and other requests for pricing and timeline information.
• Communicate complex technical concepts using a consultative selling approach.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:

• Ideal candidate will have a proven record of success selling value added contract manufacturing services, and/or laboratory testing services for the development of vaccines and protein-based therapeutics in one or more of the following contract services:
• Clinical immunology assay services
• Preclinical research 
• Process development and cGMP manufacturing for clinical trials
• Custom laboratory testing, i.e. bioanalytical, immunogenicity, product characterization, etc.

• A technical degree in the Life Sciences field accompanied by 2-4 years of relevant sales experience is required.  An MBA with a scientific background is highly desired. 
• Proven track record selling to commercial biotech and pharmaceutical companies, academic and non-profit research institutions, and/or government laboratories.
• Ability to manage up to 50% travel including meeting with potential clients and trade shows.
• Knowledge of the preclinical and clinical development process, and the concepts of GLP- and GMP-compliant processes.
• A demonstrated track record of working collaboratively with employers from a home office-based environment
• Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects.
• Must be a team player and able to interact with all echelons of company and client management.
• Ability to plan, organize and lead groups to develop effective strategic sales action plans.
• Effective written and oral presentation skills.  An established network of contacts within the target client community is desired.
• Excellent computer skills; strong knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and CRM database software i.e. Salesforce.com.
