Business Analyst/Tech Writer

Analysis of performance improvement.
Analyze information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures to determine most useful business solutions for the company.
Propose alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals and recommends improvement of computer-based business systems.
Work closely with senior managers to identify and solve a variety of computer-based business system problems.
Analyze requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing business systems.
Analyze current operational procedures and identify problems.
Solicit from management symptoms of problem, formally defines the problem, breaks problem into component parts, and gathers information about each of these parts from a variety of sources.
Select the most appropriate analytical technique. Some studies may involve use of several techniques including simulation, linear and nonlinear programming, dynamic programming, queuing and other stochastic-process models, Markov decision processes, econometric methods, data envelopment analysis, neural networks, expert systems, decision analysis, and the analytic hierarchy process.
Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Study existing computer-based business systems to evaluate effectiveness, and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
Write descriptions of business needs, business program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer-based business systems. Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
Interview production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
Review company trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of systems and applications.
 Study blueprints, flowcharts, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock ups, and product samples to integrate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
Organize material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
May maintain records and files of work and revisions. May select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. May assist in laying out material for publication. May arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material. May write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases.
CMMI requirements. Specifically includes:

Assisting in the preparation of requirements for SOWs,
Assisting in the development of  project plans and estimations,
Assisting in the development of  product traceability matrices,
Lead  project  configuration management,
Assisting in the development of risk management plans, 
Assisting in the preparation of progress review reports, project milestone reports, issue tracking reports,  and participating in bi-monthly project reviews and operations meetings.

Communicate verbally and in writing functional requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences to facilitate the development of solutions.
Serve as a technical writing resource.
