BioScience Customer Service/Sales Rep

General Summary

Promotes products and while providing a high level of customer satisfaction.  Builds customer relationships and is the primary point of contact.  Manages existing accounts and attends tradeshows. Willingness to travel (i.e. overnight, multi-night, and/or weekend travel) and must have reliable transportation.  Works independently; functions are to be completed in a timely manner and with acceptable quality.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Demonstrates outstanding customer service at all times
Collaborates with Production, QAQC, R&D personnel and Executives
Governs product sales inquires from quotes through product delivery
Receive order confirmation and maintains accurate records; furnishes reports and invoices
Disseminate information about technology and available products; develops and delivers technical presentations
Anticipates situations/problems and follows through on tasks until complete; mediates issues/concerns with Executives
Surveys customer satisfaction/feedback and communicates information
Maintains customers and establishes new relationships
Hands-on involvement in a variety of marketing logistics (i.e. reservations, booth scheduling and shipping, etc.)
Maintains all sales demonstration tools and materials; manage and participates in sales/exhibitor conferences and tradeshows
Works with Web Page Design point of contact to keep the web page up-to-date
Administrative duties (i.e. prepare correspondence, maintain spreadsheets, create packets, invoices, etc.)

 

Job Specifications (Required Qualifications)

Strong understanding of Molecular Biology and Immunology, to include a wide range of applications, techniques, etc. with hands-on laboratory experience

Extensive knowledge in customer education, relationship building and effective communication, along with analytical problem solving
Familiar with basic sales skills
Comfortable selling/communicating with a wide range of knowledge based individuals
Strong presentation and analytical skills
Customer-focused
Use of tact and skill in dealing with other staff, vendors, and customers
Effective communication (both orally and in writing) and excellent listening skills
Compose effective and efficient reports and correspondence
Multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet required deadlines
Handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem-solving manner
Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher and Outlook)

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Level Degree in a scientific discipline (preferably in Molecular Biology or Immunology) from an accredited institution or equivalent knowledge with at least two (2) years of hands-on laboratory experience
One (1) to three (3) years of successful sales experience

Highly motivated – demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team
Self-starter; takes initiative to resolve problems
Organized and detailed oriented; completes tasks ahead of schedule
Demonstrated ability to seek, learn, and apply new skills/knowledge to perform job responsibilities
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers by treating all individuals with dignity, respect and courtesy
