Job Title: Business Analyst / Business System Analyst
Reports To: Director Information Technology
The BA/BSA role is primarily responsible for the creation, modification, and maintenance of business reports and reporting systems and supports the selection, implementation, and maintenance of business software systems. The BA/BSA also assists with the development and maintenance of the ERP system, and all other data producing and storage systems, such as the Quality Management System and the Data Warehouse.
The incumbent must be capable of working in all phases of business systems product life-cycle, and must be able to apply business and process knowledge as well as technical skills, to systems development and support. Support of legacy systems is required.
An IT professional from a Public Accounting, Manufacturing Forensics, or IT Audit background is preferred, and financial consolidation and finance knowledge helpful.
Job Specific Duties:
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the business software products and processes used by the organization
Develop a strong understanding of business strategies and objectives
Elicit or expand upon information requirements for reports and projects using interviews, document analysis, storyboards, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, scenarios, and task and workflow analysis
Understand systems and operational requirements, downstream system impacts, and legal compliance issues
Recommend implementation of features and functions where appropriate.
Handle several implementation tasks and/or projects at any given time
Provide business support for all company operations as required, including but not limited to physical inventory counts, scheduling, reporting, etc.
Practice standard project management and time management skills and provide progress updates

Education: Must have Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
Background: Must be able to demonstrate expertise in respective field
· Training: Must reach competency level by end of the sixty (60) day Introductory Period
Minimum of five years of experience as a business analyst and/or systems analyst
Minimum of two years of SQL experience with the ability to write ad hoc reports and complex queries in order to perform data analysis
Experience with designing and implementing a Data Warehouse including management of the ETL process(es)
Experience with the Microsoft BI stack, including SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), SharePoint (Excel Services, PowerPivot, Performance Point), Bing Maps, Office (Excel-Power Pivot) and Power BI
Performance will be evaluated annually unless determined otherwise appropriate
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and a demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and understand prioritization of deliverables
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
Crystal Report writing experience required, experience with other report writing platforms a plus
Must be able to work in a dynamic environment, with multiple projects and deadlines
Understanding of Finance and Accounting as it relates to business systems (P&L, balance sheet structure, reporting and transactional data flow, i.e. order to shipment)
Process mapping and process analysis experience highly desirable
Personnel performing work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills and experience.
Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time on a daily basis
Ability to lift/reach/bend/stretch in normal office environment
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
Advanced computer literacy required
Ability to tolerate exposure to metal dust/products and metal processing products in a normal manufacturing environment
Highly analytical, logical approach to database design and development
Taste for and driven by simplicity and elegance in technical design related to data structure and user interface (GUI)
Process analysis/mapping experience (Visio)
Appreciation for test-driven development and building software “the right way"
Strong communication, collaboration & team building skills with proficiency at grasping new technical concepts quickly and utilize the same in a productive manner
Successful completion of training to perform job requirements in a consistent manner
Willingness to learn new skills and improve current skills in an environment of continuous improvement
Maintaining customer satisfaction in every step of the service delivery
