The Video Systems Engineer II is a self-starter with strong analytical skills who is responsible for designing and implementing complex Video-enables solutions for our customers worldwide. Working with technologies such as IP Video, Multicast IP, Digital Signage, Virtualization and Video Cloud portals, the Video Systems Engineer provides engineering support to Customers, Sales, Project Management and fellow Spectrum Engineers as needed.
Demonstrates expert knowledge of industry-standard Video solutions including VBrick/Haivision/VITEC/Polycom products
Performs research and testing of video technologies within both legacy and green-field environments
Works closely with Sales, Project Management and Engineering staffs to ensure customer objectives are met
Authors technical response documents and customer presentations as needed
Performs the design, creates the Bill of Materials and write the Scope of Work for customer Video projects
Provides on-site installation and troubleshooting support of Video Technologies
Identifies new and emerging video technologies; makes recommendations to customers/management for implementation
Serves as Team Lead and mentor for junior engineers/technicians

Education and work experience:
Must have 6+ years of pre/post sales Video Engineering experience
A deep understanding of video encoding standard fundamentals including H.264/265, MPEG-4 and VC-1
Experience with hardware/software encoding/decoding/transcoding solutions and the challenges that occur with these systems
Knowledge of IP routing and switching technologies as they relate to a Video infrastructure.
Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, Hyper V, etc.
Certifications in one or more of the following: VCNE/CCNA/CCNA-Video/CCNP/Polycom/Tandberg/Extron
