Sr. Desktop Support Technician

Great opportunity in Washington D.C. for solid Desktop Support Technician.

Job Responsibilities

Perform duties as Tier 2-3 Overall Technical Support Technician
Configure, install and troubleshoot problems with all aspects of PC, laptops and sometimes Apple computer hardware, kiosk stations (touch screens and hardware), network equipment, AV equipment, DVR equipment and monitors.
Configure, install and troubleshoot problems with all printers.
Configure, install, test and troubleshoot problems with various software applications such as MS Office suite to include email, browsers, databases, Windows OS and Mac OS. 
Working knowledge of SharePoint and HEAT.
Install and test images onto desktops using MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) technology. Upgrade and test software applications.
Provide IT/AV support for various staff and public functions. This includes, setup, installation configuration of equipment, projectors, speakers, mics and cameras. Also included is Wi-Fi installation of temporary antenna systems.
Perform routine network administration, establish and maintain network file directories and user accounts.
Mentor and train end users on software.
Perform duties for asset management and digitization of assets
Work closely with Customer and Team to maintain SLA and high customer satisfaction
Monitor work of the team to ensure all tickets are being handled according to the SLA.
Make recommendations for overall improvement across the contract.

 

 

 

Education/Knowledge/Skills:

 

Mandatory:

5+ years’ experience
Significant experience trouble-shooting Windows/Apple computer hardware and network problems.
Significant hands on experience with servicing desktop computers, laptop computers, and printers.
Significant experience with AV support and all aspects of AV support
Experience with asset management and digitization of asset management
Strong IT background
Strong Customer Service skills
Strong Written and Verbal skills – ability to gather and communicate information accurately
Strong working knowledge of MS Office apps, SharePoint, Windows OS, Mac OS, and HEAT
Expert knowledge in creating and maintaining Windows images

Team Leader experience
Certifications: A+ or MCSE or MCDST
