Quality Control Manager, National Harbor
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) will assure that we provide the best electrical construction services and that we meet or exceed all stated requirements with respect to engineering, management, testing, material, codes, installation, workmanship, construction, finish, functional performance, identification, record keeping and customer relations.
The Quality Control Manager has the authority granted by the Chief Operating Officer and administratively reports to the Corporate Quality Control Director. Day to day activities are coordinated with the onsite Foreman, Project Manager and Project Executive as appropriate.
Management of Submittals
Develop project specific Quality Control Plan for submission.
Review and approve work plans
Review, approve and log all product submissions
3 Phases of Quality Control
Plan, conduct and document the 3 phases of quality control and inspections
Preparatory Phase Meeting
Initial Phase Meeting
Final Phase Inspections
Quality Control Inspections
Develop and maintain site specific test plan and log
Maintain and track testing venders’ qualifications and certifications
Document, coordinate and assist in all levels of commissioning efforts
Examine materials and equipment ensuring compliance with the approved submittals and contract documents
Maintain log of noncompliance and implement corrective action program
Inspect for damaged or defective materials
Verify dimensional requirements
Verify As-Built drawings are being maintained
Prepare, distribute and maintain daily reports summarizing information stated above
CPR certified / OSHA 10
Familiarity of EM385, NESC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 101A and 101B, NFPA 780, LOTO procedures
Report all safety issues or concerns immediately to designated Safety personnel on site

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA.) or equivalent Certifications in an electrical related engineering or business field; or a minimum of 5 years related experience as an Electrical Quality Control Manager, Electrical Project Manager, Electrical Superintendent or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required to possess (ACE) Quality Management for Contractors certification. Electrical Masters License or other electrical related qualifications is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprint drawings, technical data submittals, common scientific and technical journals. Must be knowledgeable in construction building and electrical codes. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and customer representatives, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to clients, stake holders, upper management and site employees. The ability to read, write and speak in English. Must have appropriate computer skills and able to use information technology and programs to document and report using required software.
