Tax Manager – Estate, Gift and Trusts

Position Summary:

Provide tax planning and consulting to our firm’s high net worth clients for estate, wills and trusts taxation, and individual income taxes. Interact closely with client’s other advisors such as attorneys and financial asset managers.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and consult on tax matters, primarily in the estate, gift, charitable planning.
Through servicing clients, make recommendations on business succession planning and serve as a business advisor to clients.
Consult directly with clients in areas of advanced technical issues, business and personal planning, identifies and provides solutions to problems.
Communicate complex planning strategies effectively to clients and other firm professionals.
Develop excellent client relationships on behalf of the firm.
Lead staff through mentoring, guidance and coaching. Evaluate performance and provide timely feedback.
Pursue new business opportunities. Maintain primary and active relationships with key business contacts, clients and referral sources.
Prepare reports, projects and other duties as may be assigned.
Accept administrative duties in such areas as staff recruiting, training, scheduling, quality control, other organized committees.
Prepare invoices to clients, communicates details of fees to clients, and assists in collection of overdue accounts.
Develop and maintains technical expertise in areas of concentration.

Demonstrate sound judgment in arriving at conclusions and in handling unusual or difficult situations.

Conduct him/herself in a professional manner with confidence and ease in the presence of staff and client representatives.

Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
Proficiency with computers, spreadsheet software programs, calculator and other general office equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
Competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and Firm standards and ethics.
Thorough command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations; proficiency at tax research, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the Firm. Knowledge of tax and financial planning principles sufficient to analyze client’s complex financial situation, identify problem areas and suggest solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelors’ degree in accounting and CPA.
Minimum of seven years of progressive and relevant work experience serving high net worth individuals and family groups and their related closely held entities.
