The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is tasked to verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.
A successful Shipping and Receiving Clerk will:
Deliver or route materials to specific locations within the building using work devices such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
Examine contents of incoming and/or outgoing shipments and compare with records, such as purchase or sales orders, to verify accuracy of shipment.
Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.
Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
Maintain shipping materials and supplies for stock.
2+ years job experience in similar industry/responsibility
