ASP.NET C# Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

Develops Web applications by studying existing technology architecture; analyzing browser compatibility techniques; building n-tier, scalable, and multimedia applications; programming objects, events, functions, error trapping, and data verification; and completing documentation;
Enhances team accomplishments and competence by productively working with other members of the team;
Adheres and contributes to Software Engineering policies, procedures, and standards;
Maintains technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations;
Accomplishes department and organization missions by completing related tasks as needed;
Writes both manual and automated unit test cases;
Other duties as assigned.

 

The individual in this position will be working with a team of other software engineers, DBAs, testers, and designers.  Due to the nature of this position, the applicant will need the ability to work from home or during off-hours as necessary. 

For your application to be considered, you must have the following:

At least two years of experience developing ASP.NET Web applications
Good SQL skills, with the ability to generate SQL queries from an entity-relationship diagram
An extremely detail-oriented work ethic
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High-speed Internet access at home and a personal computer
Able to follow technical requirements
The ability to demonstrate work or educational experience by providing examples, samples, and source code

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

Experience creating user and server controls and an  understanding of the ASP.NET Page lifecycle
A preference toward Visual Studio’s source code editor, rather than its design mode
Experience with creating semantically-correct XHTML, using CSS for layout and presentation
Experience with other, related Web technologies, such as JavaScript, regular expressions, and XML
An understanding of how to use SQL Server's Management Studio for developing and analyzing ad hoc SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and DDL
Experience with designing and creating highly scalable database-oriented Web applications
Experience writing technical requirements
Experience working on Agile teams
