Engineer - Anti-Fraud ROCKVILLE MD
XXXXXXX is looking for a talented, experienced software engineer to join our AntiFraud Engineering team, which develops solutions that detect and respond to phishing and malware attacks to assist brand owners in reducing fraud losses and maintaining brand trust, using cutting edge technology.
This candidate will join an existing team in developing and maintaining a market-leading set of AntiFraud applications, which require adaptability to the fast-changing market trends in the hot cyber-fraud space. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have a “can-do” attitude, work well in a cross-functional environment, master new technology quickly, collaborate well, mentor others and “lead from the trenches”.
◾The candidate will be part of a team of software engineers designing, implementing and maintaining technology to support operations center staff, and build systems for ingestion and analysis of diverse data feeds, detection of phishing, malware and other cyber-fraud attack types. The candidate will be involved in an ongoing basis on developing tools and interfaces to allow the operations center staff to more efficiently action on this data and respond to customer-facing issues.
◾The candidate should have SaaS experience and a track record of building and delivering high quality software in scalable commercial applications.
◾The candidate should have extensive experience designing and developing web applications in a LAMP or similar environment.
The candidate should also have experience in developing, implementing and maintaining large production applications with large data processing requirements.

◾4+ years of experience working as a software engineer developing commercial software;
◾2+ years of experience in a SaaS delivery model;
◾Experience of 3+ years in the AntiFraud space is highly desirable;
◾Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required.
◾Robust understanding of the Internet infrastructure and eco-system (DNS, domain management, etc.);
◾Working knowledge of email systems, FTP/SFTP protocols, and system administration;
◾Understanding of current fraud and malware types as well as trends in the industry;
◾Proven expertise in architecting and developing high availability, scalable, performance-oriented applications;
◾Expert ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex design and coding problems;
◾Strong experience in database interaction with emphasis on applications designed for high volume transactions;
◾Expert level proven hands-on experience in Perl/Python and other system-level languages;
◾Experience working with version control systems like Subversion and git;
◾Demonstrated experience with Web development, including Web services, REST, SOAP;
◾Strong SQL knowledge, hands-on experience with mySQL / PostgreSQL is a must;
◾Working knowledge of NoSQL technologies is a plus;
◾Working knowledge of multi-processing and enterprise-scale systems is a plus;
◾Experience with virtualization (VMware / Xen);
◾Ability to work effectively as a team member, across project teams, and independently;
◾Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
