Our client is looking for a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for system administration and customer support of servers and workstations in a Research, Development, and Testing, and Engineering (RDT&E) environment. The System Administrator must demonstrate experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration and will be expected to provide technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for problems involving system operations. Additionally, the Systems Administrator must demonstrate experience with automated installation methods and system imaging (e.g. Kickstart/Anaconda), cryptographic log on methods (e.g. PKI), Precision Time Protocol, Source Code Control System/Continuous Integration Administration (git/gitlab/TRAC/jenkins), DISA STIG implementation and working within Configuration-Managed Environments. Duties will include working as part of a team responsible for administration and management of servers, end-user workstations, and potentially Cisco networking switches in both unclassified and classified network environments. This includes analysis, design, and implementation of modifications to the system software in order to improve system performance, correct errors, or fulfill specific needs. The System Administrator will participate in planning new hardware acquisitions, developing operating policy, interacting with vendors, educating customers, and communicating and collaborating with other projects within the organization. The System Administrator will work closely with scientists and engineers to help them use workstations and servers to solve their computationally intensive problems. Support of individual user workstations and associated software will be required, support for application installation, licenses management, software tracking/distribution and backup/recovery of system configurations and user data files.Also, The Administrator will assist users in applying for accounts, and approving user access.
Demonstrated experience in system administration of Linux-based servers and Linux-based workstations is required. Hardware experience with HP and Dell systems is required. Well-developed Linux system management skills are required.
Must meet DoD 8570 Cyber Workforce (CWF) criteria of Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at time of hire.
Specific experience with the following operating systems and services is required: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6.x). Demonstrated experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities is necessary.
Real time applications experience would be a plus
Cisco Network Administration experience is desired
Demonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure is desirable.
Security Clearance: Must have and maintain a Secret clearance
BS in related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
